GOL'DIGGERS CLAIM SBL TITLE OVER HOOTS
GAINESVILLE, GA - The Columbus Chatt-a-Hoots SunBelt Baseball League Season came to a close Friday night with a loss in Game Two of the SBL Championship by a 4-0 score, crowning the Gainesville Gol’Diggers champions.
Corey Collins led off the fourth inning with a solo home run, and David Lewis followed with an RBI single to make it 2-0. The Gol’Diggers added onto the lead in the seventh with two more to take the win.
Columbus managed only three hits in the game and never really found its offensive stride in the game. The Hoots did strand three men on base in the fifth inning and two more in the sixth but couldn’t find a way to bring them home.
Maddox Thornton picked up the win for the Gol’Diggers while William Turner took the loss for the Hoots.
Ignite Sports congratulates the Chatt-a-Hoots on a wonderful season and looks forward to next year.
