by Tom Callahan

COLUMBUS, GA - The Gainesville Gol’Diggers managed a split on the road with the Columbus Chatt-a-Hoots after winning game two of the series 8-6 in 11 innings on Saturday night at Golden Park.

Much like they did on Friday night, the two teams traded runs early and often. Both Columbus and Gainesville scored in the first inning, and there would be six lead changes in the game.

The teams finished the initial nine innings tied at 5-5, and then both would score a single run in the tenth to move the score to 6-6. In the top of the 11th, Gainesville managed to score twice and then hold the Hoots off the board for the victory and move back into sole possession of first place in the SunBelt Baseball League.

Now Columbus will play a pair of games at Alpharetta on Monday and Wednesday before returning home to wrap up the regular season at Golden Park against the Brookhaven Bucks. Single game seats for both games are on sale now through GoHoots.com or by calling (706) 507-4625.
