HOOTS BEAT AVIATORS 11-1 IN SEVEN INNINGS

ALPHARETTA, GA - The Columbus Chatt-a-Hoots beat the Alpharetta Aviators 11-1 in seven innings on Monday night to start the final week of the SunBelt Baseball League regular season.


The Hoots offense was in gear from the start, plating four runs in the first inning and five more in the second. Columbus added singles in the third and fourth innings to provide all the scoring they needed.


Joey Gill made the offensive outburst stand up, going five innings and allowing two hits and one unearned run while walking one and striking out 11 Aviators batters for the win. In total Hoots pitchers ended the game with a total of 16 strikeouts.


Zane Ross went 2-for-2 with two RBIs and two runs scored, while Walt McConnell’s three-run double in the first inning was the hit that started the rout.


The same two teams are back at it on Wednesday night at American Legion Field in Alpharetta. First pitch is slated for 7:05 pm with radio coverage on Hoots flagship station 106.9 Really Rocks and the Chatt-a-Hoots radio network.
