HOOTS BLANK BLUES FOR GAME ONE WIN
COLUMBUS, GA - The Columbus Chatt-a-Hoots are one win away from advancing to the SunBelt Baseball League Final after a 7-0 shutout of the Atlanta Blues on Friday night at Golden Park.
The game was scoreless until the bottom of the fifth inning, when the Hoots finally got to Blues starter Jeremy Clark. They managed to push across three runs in the inning, adding on with one more in the sixth and seventh plus a pair in the bottom of the eighth to secure the win.
William Turner once again gave the Hoots a quality start, allowing just four hits scattered over six innings of work while striking out eight and walking none.
Ellis Yohn finished 2-for-4 with two RBIs to lead the offense for the Hoots.
Game 2 will be played Saturday night at Georgia State University’s complex, as the Hoots have a chance to advance with a win. Should the Blues tie the series at one, a deciding Game 3 will be played Monday night back in Columbus at Golden Park at 7:05 pm.
