HOOTS BLANKED BY BLUES 2-0
COLUMBUS, GA - The Columbus Chatt-a-Hoots lost for just the fourth time this season as they were shut out by the Atlanta Blues 2-0 on Saturday night.
It took Columbus until the fifth inning to register the first of only three hits on the night as Blues pitchers Brendan Parks, Jeremy Clark and Kaleb King combined to keep the vaunted Hoots offense at bay.
The loss spoiled a very good start by Brian Trepanier, who struck out nine and walked none in five innings of work while scattering four hits. Unfortunately one of those hits was a solo home run off the bat of Chandler Hicks that would result in the margin of victory for the Blues.
Columbus will now travel to face the Atlanta Crackers on Monday and Wednesday night at Kennesaw State University. First pitch will be at 7:05 pm with radio coverage on 106.9 Really Rocks and the Chatt-a-Hoots radio network.
