Hoots Bring On McLendon Hill As Assistant Coach
Columbus, GA - The Columbus Chatt-a-Hoots are proud to announce McLendon Hill of Columbus High School baseball as a new addition to Steve Smith's coaching staff for the 2021 season.
Hill has been serving as an assistant coach with CHS for the past four seasons. As a player, he attended CHS and was a part of the 2010 AAA Georgia State Championship team. After high school, he played at Georgia Perimeter College for two years, earning a NJCAA Georgia Gold Glove and second-team NJCAA Georgia All-Conference.
"I’m very thankful and excited for the opportunity given to me by Steve Smith and Scott Brand" Hill said. "I am very excited to be a part of baseball coming back to Golden Park."
It was not only Hill's baseball resume that impressed Smith, but also his previous experience with him. Prior to returning to his alma mater at CHS to become an assistant coach, Hill served as an assistant Varsity coach and middle school head coach at Calvary Christian with Smith.
The Hoots are very excited for the 2021 season as the team and coaching staff begin to take shape. And you'll be able to get your tickets to see the team in action very soon! Stay tuned to our social media pages (@HootsOnFirst) tomorrow for a big announcement!
