DECATUR, GA - A back-and-forth affair finally ended in favor of the hometown Atlanta Blues as they handed the Columbus Chatt-a-Hoots its first loss of the SunBelt Baseball League season 7-5 on Wednesday night.

The two teams traded runs early and often, with the Hoots tying the game at 1-1 in the second before falling behind 5-1. Columbus then tied it up again with a pair of runs in the fifth and seventh innings. But the Blues pulled ahead for good in the bottom of the seventh with two more runs and held the Hoots scoreless for the eighth and ninth innings.

Blues pitcher Gabriel Elliott went long in relief, earning the win over five innings while allowing four earned runs and seven hits while walking three and striking out one. Logan Seehafer took the loss in just one inning of work, allowing one hit and two earned runs with two walks and a strikeout.

Columbus will now host the Chattahoochee Monsters this weekend at Historic Golden Park on Friday and Saturday night. First pitch is at 7:05 pm both nights. Tickets are on sale now at GoHoots.com and start at just $10 with discounts available for children, seniors and active duty military.
