HOOTS MOVE BACK INTO TIE FOR FIRST AFTER 10-0 WIN

COLUMBUS, GA - The Columbus Chatt-a-Hoots moved back into a tie for first place atop the SunBelt Baseball League standings after a 10-0 win over the Atlanta Blues on Friday night.


Offensively Columbus exploded in the seventh and eighth innings, scoring seven runs across the two frames to turn a 3-0 lead into a 10-0 run rule ending in the bottom of the eighth. Bladyn Alaniz, Conner O’Neal, Ellis Yohn and Jonathan Manibusen all recorded a pair of RBIs in the win.


William Turner gave the Hoots six-plus shutout innings, scattering five hits while striking out seven and walking one to earn the win.


With the win and a loss by the Gainesville Gol’Diggers, the Hoots move back into a tie for first place in the SunBelt league with a 16-3 mark.


Columbus will host the Blues again on Saturday night at Golden Park with first pitch slated for 7:05 pm. It’s Youth Baseball Night, with all kids wearing their youth league jersey to the game able to buy a general admission seat for just $3 at the Golden Park Box Office.
