Introducing Columbus' Newest Baseball Team: The Chatt-a-Hoots!

by Zak DeBeaussaert

Columbus, GA - After nearly a month of voting and deliberation the results are in and the new Columbus Baseball team playing in the Sunbelt League next summer will be known as the Columbus Chatt-a-Hoots!

The Chatt-a-Hoots name was one of 16 finalists that were chosen by the organization after a call to the public to input their suggestions as to what the team should be called. Those finalists were then put into a tournament-style competition to find a winner.

"We appreciate all the input we got from the community on this front" team President/GM Scott Brand said. "We're happy that a name was chosen that was unique to the Chattahoochee Valley and provides us with many great branding opportunities for this team in the years to come.

Everyone who submitted an entry back in late September/early October that suggested the Chatt-a-Hoots, Owls, Hoots or relative names will be entered into a future drawing for our grand prize of season tickets, custom jerseys and authentic game hats.

Thank you to everyone who was involved in naming your Columbus Chatt-a-Hoots! Let's get ready to play ball!
