O'NEAL NAMED SBL PLAYER OF THE YEAR

The Columbus Chatt-a-Hoots are proud to announce that Conner O'Neal has been named Player of the Year for the SunBelt Baseball League 2023 season.

O'Neal led the league in RBIs with 29 and walks with 29. He also finished tied for first in home runs (4), hits (39) and triples (2). The junior at Southeastern Louisiana University also finished second in the league in batting average (.386) as well as OBP, OBS and slugging percentage.

"Conner has shown tremendous growth over the last three summers, improving on his plate discipline, batting average, on-base percentage and power," said Chatt-a-Hoots director of baseball operations and field manager Steve Smith. "It all culminated in the best offensive season in Hoots history. Overall, his historic season was a testament to his hard work and drive to improve every day."

The Chatt-a-Hoots wrapped the season after a loss in the SBL championship round to the Gainesville Gol'Diggers after capturing the regular season title. Season ticket and roster information will be available towards the spring for the 2024 season. Congratulations to all Hoots players for everything they've accomplished this year.
