by Tom Callahan

COLUMBUS, GA - The Columbus Chatt-a-Hoots announced the team’s pitching staff for the upcoming 2023 SubBelt Baseball League season, including a pair of Auburn University lefthanders.

Both Jackson Hilton and William Turner play ball for Auburn, and highlight a pitching staff that includes eight returning arms. Logan Seehafer, Bryce Valero, Brian Trepanier, Ellis Yohn, Gavin Blair, Trey Sanders, Brad Grasser and Ashton Shakelford have all worn Chatt-a-Hoots colors before and will be familiar names to fans.

Newcomers include Hilton and Turner as well as right-handers Hogan Mayhew, Connor Folds, Cole Mathis and Jeremiah Reddell.

This year the Chatt-a-Hoots will start exhibition play on May 27 against new park-mates the Chattahoochee Monsters, while the regular season kicks off for the Hoots on June 3 against the Waleska Wild Things at Golden Park. Steve Smith returns for his third season as manager of the Hoots.
