SSAC Moves Baseball Championships to Columbus, GA

COLUMBUS, Ga. – The Southern States Athletic Conference announced a multi-year agreement to move the SSAC Baseball Championship to Historic Golden Park in Columbus, Ga., in partnership with the Sports Council of Columbus, Ga., and the Columbus Chatt-a-Hoots. The agreement will start with the 2022 championship. 

Noteworthy

  • The 2022 championship will take place May 4-7, with the top eight teams in the final regular season standings qualifying
  • Golden Park is a 4,500 seat stadium that was completely refurbished in 1996 and was the Olympic venue for the women’s fastpitch softball competition
  • Golden Park serves as the home park of the Columbus Chatt-a-Hoots, members of the Sunbelt Baseball League
  • Columbus has a history of hosting championship events, including previous SSAC Baseball and Softball Championships, NAIA Softball World Series and NAIA Swimming & Diving National Championships
